Location

Constantine Bay is ideally located for exploring North Cornwall.

The beach at Constantine Bay is about a minute's walk. It's unspoilt, there is a coffee stall and ice cream van, no shops. There are large shallow rock pools for children to play in. For surfing you have an excellent choice of beaches. Lessons and boards etc. can be arranged through the surf shop at the top of the road.

There is a bus stop opposite the shop, for a service along the coast between Padstow and Newquay calling at Constantine, Porthcothan, Bedruthan Steps, and Watergate - Local Bus Information and Timetables.

The Trevose Golf and Country Club is nearby with 18 and 9 hole courses, bar, restaurant, an outdoor swimming pool and tennis courts.

St Merryn about a mile away. There is a Norman church, Post Office, grocery shops, launderette and petrol station/hardware store. There are a couple of pubs (one run by Rick Stein), restaurants and fish and chip shop.

For walkers and bird watchers, there are fine cliff-top walks heading south west towards Treyarnon Bay, Park Head and Bedruthan Steps and northwards Trevose Head, Harlyn and cliffs beyond to Stepper Point overlooking the Camel Estuary and the harbour town of Padstow just round the corner.

Padstow (and Rick Stein's Restaurants) is about 4 miles. On the outskirts there's a Tesco and a recycling centre at the upper town car park. From Padstow the Camel Trail walk and cycle route follows the old railway line on the estuary shore to Wadebridge and Bodmin. Cycle hire at Padstow - Trail Bike Hire or Wadebridge - Bridge Bike Hire.

Nearby Watergate Bay has Fifteen, Jamie Oliver's beachside enterprise with stunning views, and the beach offers an academy for 'extreme sports' such as Kite Surf, Wave Ski, Land Buggy and Mountain Board.

Other attractions include the Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan and the National Trust gardens at Lanhydrock near Bodmin.

There is a pack at the flat with local information: dentist, doctors, vet etc.
